Alphabooks Information and Ideas for Parents:
Young children learn best when they have opportunities to relate to new concepts to something they are familiar with, like their name. When looking through the Alphabooks, set aside all the books that have the letters of your child‘s name or initials. Arrange the books in letter order, so they can see all the letters used to spell their name. When sharing each of the letter books with your child, name the objects that are depicted for each letter and word. By listening to you match object to word, your child will gain an understan ding of the sounds each letter represents.
