Located in Granada, Spain, Alhambra was once a formidable fortress, gloriouspalace, and beautiful city all in one. This award winning game gives players an opportunity to recreate the beauty of ancient Spain by building their own Alhambra, complete with gardens, towers, pavilions, and more. Players must make difficult choices in how to spend limited economic resources on different construction projects, and where to place them, in order to build the most glorious palace.

A big challenge of the game play is determining when and what type of building tiles to purchase and what types and amounts of currency to keep in hand for future acquisitions. Another great feature of the game is the placement of building tiles in the Alhambra - if the tiles aren't placed well, it can severely limit opportunities for future growth. Although luck plays a part, it does not outweigh good strategic decision-making.

On their turn, players may take currency from the open market, purchase a building from the build ing market, or engage in construction and re-construction projects with buildings that have been placed in the player's reserve. The game ends when the building market can no longer be replenished from the building tile supply, the player with the highest score wins.

Game contains: 60 building and start tiles, 110 cards, 6 summary boards, 12 playing pieces, 1 game board, 1 scoretrack and 1 rule booklet. Game suitable for 2-6 players. Approximate game time: 45-60 minutes. Expansion packs available.
